Dressage Riders Training Association:
DRTA
In 1992 Dressage Riders Training Association (DRTA) was formed, to help the sport of dressage, at competition level. The head coach Margo Boldt has competed successfully in Australia and Europe in CDI's at Grand Prix level.
In 1991 she was awarded the Coca Cola Western Australian Sportsperson of the year award. In 1992 she was placed on the Olympic short list for the Barcelona Olympic Games.
Konnica Park Don Georgio, her Grand Prix horse was Reserve champion Grand Prix horse at the 2002 Nationals held in Sydney and holder of the State Grand Prix Dressage Horse of the Year Title 2003.
Over the years as Dressage Riders Training Association DRTA, has grown, so has the area of interest. Young horses in hand, the development of judges, trainers and the less competitive (but not less enthusiastic), have now been included to help dressage as a whole, rather than just sections of it. Training weekends include coaching sessions, lectures, video's and demonstrations. With the expansion of knowledge dressage becomes a very exciting sport indeed.
To run DRTA a committee is selected each year by the members. From this committee a club Chairperson is chosen. All full members have, the chance to stand as Chairperson. The committees role is to raise funds such as organising shows, raising sponsorship and keeping the club functioning.
DRTA, Dressage Riders Training Association's success is due to the many dedicated members from the committee and general ranks who have used their talents and time free of charge to make the club what it is today.
